Procida

Procida is one of the four Phlegraean Islands in the bay of Naples, lying between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia. It has a unique athmosphere, stuck somewhere in the depths of time. It has been used as a location for several major films, including Cleopatra, The Postman and The Talented Mr Ripley. The island has also been named as the 'Italian Capital of Culture 2022'. The highest point is Terra Murata, where the ruins of a medieval castle provide spectacular views over the bay of Naples. Just below, is the stunning harbour of Corricella, which has been been a fishing port since the 17th century and is like nothing you have seen before. Arriving from the sea, which is the only way to get to it, you are faced with a jumble of colourful houses, all piled on top of each other and looking for all the world as though they are tumbling into the sea.
